Our work
Most of our work is in the public domain, where our knowledge of how spaces are used and what makes them 'tick' comes into its own; some of the partners and clients we have worked with are shown here. Our work focuses on…
• Spaces for health and wellbeing - designing spaces which promote healing or which simply help promote healthy lifestyles
• Spaces for play - creating welcoming 'shared' spaces for play throughout the public domain, for children and young people, and their families
• Spaces for communities – working at a strategic level to support and inform the planning process, and at a detailed design level on housing and regeneration schemes
• Spaces of historic importance – landscape conservation, restoration and management.
Our involvement can range from working alongside an architect on a planning application, to overseeing the implementation of a scheme on site. We can also help secure external funding, and with general project development. We can join a project mid-way through the process but make our most useful contribution when appointed at the outset. We have extensive experience of community engagement and consider this to be a crucially important element in most of the projects we tackle.
The Landscape Institute have summarised the benefits of employing a Landscape Architect in their document A Guide for Clients: download a copy here.
