The
Hub, Hounslow
The
Surestart 'Hub' building in Hounslow is located on the
Aberfeldy estate, in the shadow of Heathrow airport,
in west London. Set in an area of deprivation, the area
round the building has great potential to become a space
enjoyed by local people of all ages. ASA is working
with consultant Phil Doyle on a scheme to transform
what is currently a rather bland and shabby space into
somewhere which feels like a 'place' in its own right,
and which could form a new focus for community activities
in an area where good quality open space is very limited
indeed.
Funding
is still being sought from a variety of sources but
it is hoped that the scheme will be implemented over
the winter of 2011 - 2012, with a budget of approximately
£80,000.
