Play design

ASA takes a 'landscape-led' approach to play spaces, where the equipment and the setting are designed together, to enhance each other. Play 'landscapes' such as the one at Wyvis Street in LB Tower Hamlets provide a much wider range of play opportunities than the traditional playground, and also hold the interest of children for much longer than play spaces focused on equipment.

We are happy to take on smaller play projects and believe that we can demonstrate the added value that a full design service can bring to the process.

We can assist with project development; funding bids; design; and implementation, including preparation of contract documentation and supervision of works on site. We are also able to hold workshops and other training events building on the award winning Design for Play guidance, of which Aileen Shackell was the main author.
