Pickle
Ditch
A
Section 106 Agreement funded these environmental improvements
to the riverside boundary of the new Priory Retail Park
in Colliers Wood, South London.
Though
only a very narrow site between the car park and the
Pickle Ditch careful modification of ground levels and
sensitive use of materials and planting created a quiet
peaceful space which felt quite separate from the Retail
Park.
Aileen
worked with the Environment Agency on a new method of
installing planting within the concrete channel. The
hazel faggots set onto subsoil beds along the river
walls proved to be a very effective way of creating
'in-channel' planting areas.
