House Courtyard, Bow
The
courtyard space in front of McKenna House, off the Roman
Road in Bow, east London has never really been properly
laid out - and as a result it is rarely used by anyone.
ASA is now working for Old Ford Housing Association
(OFHA) alongside Consultant Phil Doyle to re-design
the space to provide a more attractive visual focus
for the flats which surround it. Most of the flats do
not have their own private gardens so a well designed
space on their doorstep could markedly improve local
people's quality of life.
The
scheme will be constructed this year by the Apollo Group
on behalf of OFHA, with a budget of approximately £300,000,
in time for completion before the winter.
